Ceremonies to Celebrate: Life's Turning Points
During our life journeys we move through various phases, some of which occur naturally such as birth, puberty, menopause, death; others are the results of our choices such as infant namings, marriage, renewal of vows, civil unions, divorce, job change, moving to new homes. In our society, we have become disconnected from consciously honoring and celebrating the seasons and transitions of our lives. This lack of connection to our personal and life rhythms results in our feeling disconnected from ourselves, each other and Spirit.
While there are many ways to create ceremonies and rituals to honor life's phases and transitions, the labyrinth is an ancient pattern and archetype for peace and transformation, beautifully symbolizing our life and spiritual journeys. The circle, inherent in the labyrinth design, symbolizes wholeness while the spiral, inherent in the labyrinthine energy, symbolizes death and rebirth.
The 3-Circuit Celebration Labyrinth, designed and created by Rev. Judith Joyce, is used to support the honoring of the passages in our lives in a special and powerful way. Through creating ritual to individually and collectively celebrate and consciously create how we want to relate to these changes, our lives and relationships are enriched on many levels.
Community rituals honoring the passage of the seasons, anniversaries and other community events are also celebrated beautifully on the labyrinth.
